I am writing on behalf of the Mercury Bay Game Fishing Club and myself to thank you for your sponsorship our recent trailer boat tournament. This was our third tournament and it has totally surpassed all expectations. This year we had a total of 131 boats and 400 anglers. Our first tournament in 2009 had 56 boats. It is proving a very popular tournament and we are looking forward to further growth next year.
One of the main reasons that this tournament has grown so quickly in popularity is because firms like yours have shown great generosity in sponsoring this event. Without your contribution we could not boast of a prize pool of over $140,000.
As you know this tournament caters for all types of trailer boats and for people who either want to specialise in snapper fishing or for the more adventurous fisherman who wants to go out wide for marlin and other game fish. This year we were very fortunate to have been included as one of the tournaments eligible for fishermen to compete for the Furuno Snapper World Trophy and we had a McLay boat as a lucky draw.
With 400 fishermen taking part in this event it means that a lot of people are exposed to our sponsors goods and services and I make every effort to ensure that our sponsors get all the coverage and publicity that they can both before and during the tournament. Our fishermen are encouraged to use our sponsors whenever they can.

We finally had a break in the weather which allowed me to test the system. In a nutshell: I have two 110 HP Yanmars and it works GREAT. As far as Absolute Marine is concerned, and/or Navman. Great product – great service!

Yesterday I received, via Westpark marine chandlery, a new replacement instrument for my old W3100 which had failed. The new instrument has been installed and works perfectly.

On the 19th of January I called in at your East Tamaki premises and got you to look at a Navman 4380 fish finder. I had not been able to find fish with it, and all it ever seemed to show was a thin flat line to represent the bottom. You kindly exchanged it for the latest model 4380 and told me to look at the angle and positioning of the transducer. I have done this, and fitted the new finder and would like to report that the new finder is working very well. It is picking up fish movement and is showing much more detail of the bottom. I would like to say thank you for the excellent service, time and advice you gave. It has obviously worked because we got our limit of snapper on Saturday! I will be recommending Absolute marine and Navman products in future. Thanks again.

Well Absolute marine and Navman/Northstar are truly amazing companies to deal with. I sent both my wind instruments to them and they have replaced both under warranty. I was not sure if they were still under warranty, at least the first unit I bought I am sure was out. I let them know that. But they replaced both units with the new Northstar Product. It's sad the NZ name of Navman has gone, but the gear is still the same, just different branding on it. Personally I still think the wind instrument has the best display of any on the market and that display is what initially lead me to purchasing all the Navman system. I have a 5600GPS/plotter, wind and speed instruments in the pilot house and the Wind and speed in the aft cockpit console. Eventually I want to upgrade the old Standard Horizon Autopilot with the new Northstar unit. I am not sure if the model is the same, but it was the Navman 3380. This will go in the aft console and give me compass and a few other bits of info. Then I will fit their other model of head unit in the Pilot house. I already have an hydraulic pump on the steering system. I just have to start saving some pennies for it now. Poster Wheels – www.crew.org.nz
